Your headshot is an important part of your acting portfolio. It’s the first thing casting directors see, and it needs to stand out from the other actors in the pile. What should you wear for a photoshoot? There are two schools of thought: one says you should wear something that stands out, while another recommends wearing something professional – a suit or dress shirt and slacks with nice shoes. The best advice I can give is to make sure your outfit does not distract from what you want people to look at: your face! You want them looking at how good-looking/handsome you are, not what color your shirt is.
What to wear for a photoshoot
– Wear something that is not distracting from your face. Avoid colors, patterns or logos so they can focus on you and what’s in front of them.
– A suit with nice shoes will always look professional – but it might be too dressy if the shoot is casual.
